For 2 years 2012-13 I had the great pleasure of working for the artist Rick Bartow in Newport Oregon. Originally I was brought in to help construct the piece "We Were Always Here" for the Smithsonian NMAI. I was brought in for my expertise in woodworking, tool making, engineering skill and youth. I was let loose to design the interior support system however I wanted. This Project afforded me the chance to work with some of the most miraculous wood on the planet and implement complex systems of joinery that could only be supported by such beautiful material. Bartow had a huge impact on me as a person and I will always be thankful for the time I received with him and the projects we made.
